Michael has spent his entire career helping companies to protect their data, their people, and their customers. With deep expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy, and AI governance, he brings a collaborative approach to develop strategies, implement processes, and drive continuous improvement to strengthen organizational resilience. His work consistently emphasizes pragmatic, scalable solutions that balance risk reduction with operational needs.

Before joining Conlon Public Strategies, Michael delivered cyber and privacy services at KPMG to a diverse portfolio of clients across industries. In this role, he helped organizations assess their risks, mature their programs, and implement controls tailored to their unique operational environments—all while aligning to broader business strategy. He later served as the chief privacy officer for Stericycle, overseeing the company’s global privacy compliance efforts and data protection practices. In that capacity, he led initiatives designed to safeguard sensitive information, support regulatory compliance, and strengthen trust with customers, partners, and employees.

Throughout his career, Michael has remained dedicated to empowering organizations to meet evolving security, privacy, and AIrelated demands. He is recognized for his ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable, sustainable programs that enhance both protection and performance. His passion lies in helping organizations build robust risk management capabilities—ones that not only address today’s threats but also prepare for tomorrow’s challenges.

Education

Michael earned a BS in Operations Management from Northern Illinois University. He is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP).
