The Chicago Sun-Times featured The Night Ministry’s vital outreach efforts during one of Chicago’s coldest nights this season, when wind chills plummeted to between minus-15 and minus-30 degrees. Staff Reporter Mohammad Samra’s article, “Comfort Amid the Cold,” showcases the organization’s street medicine team as they provided unhoused individuals on the West Side with critical support, including hot cocoa, winter clothing, food, and medical care.
The article powerfully captures the human connection at the heart of The Night Ministry’s work. Community members described the outreach team as “like family,” emphasizing how the organization’s approach goes beyond material support to address mental and emotional needs. As one recipient noted, the team makes people “feel like you’re somebody instead of nobody.”
Conlon Public Strategies is proud to support The Night Ministry as they continue to provide housing, health care, and human connection to Chicago’s most vulnerable residents, especially during extreme weather events.
