Conlon Public Strategies is pleased to announce that Dr. Joanne Howard has joined its team as a senior advisor. “We are thrilled to share Dr. Howard’s expertise in nonprofit management, program evaluation, and strategic planning with our clients,” said Kevin Conlon, founder and president of Conlon Public Strategies. “Given her background in both academics and organizational leadership, Dr. Howard has a unique ability to advise clients, not only on the latest research-based practices, but also on the practical application of this research for organizational success.”
Dr. Howard holds a doctorate in public administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and she is a clinical assistant professor of public administration at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) Stuart School of Business, where she has taught courses in public management, social capital, performance measurement, policy design, ethics, and professional responsibility. She has also served on the faculty of Roosevelt University, DePaul University, and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Dr. Howard has held leadership roles at The University of Chicago, Northwestern University School of Law, and Government Finance Officers Association, and she has advised nonprofits and educational institutions as a senior consultant for Metro Chicago Information Center (MCIC) and Designs for Change. Her work in the community has also included serving on the board of directors of Planned Parenthood Federation of America; Planned Parenthood of Illinois; the local affiliate of the American Society for Public Administration; and the Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference.
